Upcoming Contests

Hello one and all. I am officially back, and we here at the club are ready for a new year. In celebration of such a year, we are finally ready to bring back contests in full swing. We are changing it up a bit though. Contests will no longer be monthly, instead you will have a full two months to put forth your best creations. What that means, is you won't be rushed to do something for the contest, you can spend more time on the creative process. It will also bring about more time for contestants to join up. Now, the deadlines aren't the only thing changing. So are the prizes. Features will still be coming, as are the accolades for a well written piece, and as some of you know, accolades go around to all of the entries. But we will also be offering up physical prizes as well. Some prizes will be themed with the contest itself, others will simply be something we deem cool or cute. Some will be stuff from DA, whether it be merchandise, clothing or even prints. Others could very well be something off of other sites. Sometimes we might offer up subscriptions as well. The contests themselves won't be run of the mill either. There will be more time on our side for the creative process as well. And we will try to stear clear of celebratory subjects unless demanded by you guys. For example Valentine's, or the seasons, a person or place. We are going to try and offer more thoughtful contests rather than filler. Again, unless requested by you ladies and gents. Now on to our upcoming contests.

March will introduce us to our New Beginnings Contest. A journal will come about with further information on this contest, so be sure to keep an eye out. As for our other contest. It is a bit more demanding and a bit more provocative. In addition to our standard contests, we are going to be running another one called The Dreamscape Saga which will run for the entirety of 2013. Each period, which will be comprised of two months prep time, the club will create our own world that we shall come to call The Dreamscape. From the entries every period, we will unveil our top three picks in order. But those three entries will not just be found here. We will be scouring the vastness of DA for artists who will lend us their creative ability as well, and will design artwork to go with each period's top picks. The artwork will be comprised of the inspiration they draw from the portrait you paint them with your words. Each period, contestants will draw from the previous works to further inspire and create a world all our own. When all the hard work has been completed at the end of the year, the culmination will be come to found in the product of a book. The artists will get copies and the top picks that comprise the book, their writers will also get copies. All entries will have to be in lyrical form though. Because who knows, there might be more to come than just a book. Look for more information on that one as well.

So, from all of us here at the club, we wish you well on all of your endeavors for 2013, and hope to see you all in the coming months putting forth some of your best work for all to see. And a special thanks to all of you whom have supported our contests over the last few years.
